Abstract:
The EPA is issuing a final rule to reduce emissions of toxic air pollutants from primary copper smelters. Primary copper smelting is the industry which refines copper concentrate from mined ore to anode grade copper, using pyrometallic processes. EPA's final regulation will reduce emissions of eleven toxic air pollutants, including compounds containing antimony, arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel, and selenium.
