Abstract:
EPA is issuing national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) for new and existing sources used in chemical recovery processes at kraft, soda, sulfite, and stand-alone semichemical pulp mills. Hazardous air pollutants, also known as air toxics, are those pollutants known to cause or suspected of causing cancer or other serious health effects. The air toxics regulated by this final rule include gaseous organic pollutants and metals. This file is a fact sheet about the final rule.
