| Abstract: The EPA is proposing air toxics standards for major sources that coat or print metal cans or metal parts (e.g., ends for composite cans) for any type of can during any stage of the can manufacturing process. They would also apply to the coating or printing of metal sheets for subsequent processing into cans or can parts and decorative tins, crowns, and closures. Coating materials include, but are not limited to, basecoats, decorative inks, end seal compounds, side seam stripes, inside sprays, interior lacquers, overvarnishes, and repair coatings. Metal cans are coated to provide a protective, functional, or a decorative finish. This file is the text of the proposed rule. |
