Abstract: On January 10, 2000, EPA proposed amending its regulation limiting emissions of air toxics (hazardous air pollutants) from pulp and paper mills. The proposal provides the pulp and paper industry alternatives for meeting some requirements under the original rule and may reduce the cost of compliance for some mills. The proposal does not change emission standards and will not affect the health and environmental benefits of the original rule. The original rule was issued April 15, 1998 (63 FR 18504). This file is a fact sheet about today's proposed amendments.
