| Abstract: EPA published an interim guidance document clarifying its position on the use of Volatile Organic Compound, or VOC, reactivity information in the development of state implementation plans for ozone. Volatile Organic Compounds are emitted as gases in a number of industrial settings and can contribute to the formation of ozone in certain conditions. The interim guidance encourages States to consider recent scientific information on the photochemical reactivity of VOCs when they develop their plans to meet the national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) for ozone. |
