Abstract: Standards of performance for the control of VOC emissions from wastewater in the synthetic organic chemical industry (SOCMI) were proposed under the authority of Section 111 of the CAA. These standards would apply to new, modified, and reconstructed chemical process units. This document contains background information and environmental and economic assessments for the regulatory alternatives considered in developing the proposed standards.
