Total sediment yield (all sources).
This step accumulates and evaluates all of the sediment sources (tons/year), including streambank erosion (Step 9), flow-related sediment increase (Step 17) and introduced sediment from hillslope process (Step 21). This computation also includes the reference or baseline sediment yield (Step 16).
The results of a combination of stability categories from previous steps are used to summarize overall channel source sediment supply in Worksheet 29c. (PDF, 20 kb, 1 p.) Disproportionate or high sediment sources relate to specific processes useful for mitigation/stabilization/restoration proposals.
