Technical Support for RCRA Corrective Action Fact Sheet
Types of Assistance
- Review work plans, reports and designs
- Provide technical advice on evaluating contaminant transport pathways
- Consult on possible corrective action approaches and technologies, modeling strategies, and performance measurement
- Provide technical advice for meetings with State regulators and site owner/operators
- Fate and Transport advice
- Toxicity information
- Risk assessment methodology
To Request Assistance
The Regional project managers should contact the appropriate center director with the request. State representatives should make requests through their Regional Corrective Action Contact. Responses are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Risk and toxicity questions should be directed to the Engineering Support Center, who will forward them to the appropriate ORD scientist.
Engineering Techincal Support Center
John McKernan, Director
This center provides site-specific assistance on engineering and treatment issues during any phase of a site cleanup. Focus areas include containment, thermal treatments, soil vapor extraction, bioremediation, and solidification/stabilization. The center publishes Engineering Bulletins on technologies and site types. The center supports Superfund, Brownfields, and RCRA Corrective Action sites.
Ground Water Technical Support Center
Dave Burden, Director
Phone: (580) 436-8606
Fax: (580) 436-8614
This center provides site-specific assistance on ground water and subsurface contamination problems in site remediation. Foucus areas include in-situ water treatment, in-situ thermal treatment, monitored natural attenuation, soil vapor extraction, hydrologic/fate and transport modeling, and permeable reactive barriers. The center also publishes issue papers on subsurface remediation and groundwater topics and provides project manager training upon request by the regions. The center supports Superfund, Brownfields, and RCRA Corrective Action sites.
