of Massachusetts Environmentally Preferable Products Procurement Program
This site includes information on Massachusetts' efforts to buy environmentally
preferable products (EPP), state contracts for the purchase of recycled
products, guides and reports, upcoming events, and EPP contacts in Massachusetts.
Conservatree
This site provides information on recycled, tree-free, and chlorine-free
printing and writing papers.

Services Administration's Federal Supply Service
GSA's Federal Supply Service helps Federal agencies throughout the world
acquire supplies, furniture, computers, tools, and equipment. This site
contains information on the environmental products available from GSA.
Global Recycling Network (GRN)
The Global Recycling Network is currently constructing its GRN Marketplace
Web site. The site offers recycled-content product information.
Green Seal
Green Seal is the independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting
the environment by promoting the manufacture and sale of environmentally
responsible consumer products. It sets environmental standards and awards
a "Green Seal of Approval" to products that cause less harm
to the environment than other similar products.
King County, Washington
This is the Web site of King County, Washington's recycled product procurement
program. The program, which began in 1989, established King County as
a leader in developing applications for recycled products. This site describes
the tools and techniques developed by King County agencies for purchasing
recycled products.
Office of the Federal Environmental
Executive
This office promotes, coordinates, and assists federal agencies with waste
prevention, recycling, and the affirmative procurement of products made
with recycled content and environmentally preferable products and services.
This Web site contains a copy of Executive Order 13101, a summary of its
implementation, current news, a list of resources, as well as best practices
and success stories for waste prevention, recycling, and procurement.
Recycler's World
This site is a worldwide trading site for information related to secondary
or recyclable commodities, by-products, used materials, and surplus items.
There is also a calendar of events, a listing of associations, and a publications
list.
Scientific Certification Systems (SCS)
SCS documents environmental claims, such as "recycled content"
and "biodegradability," appearing on thousands of products and
materials. SCS's Compliance Evaluation Program helps retailers, government
agencies, and corporate procurement officials screen the environmental
claims made by their vendors to ensure responsible green marketing.
Texas Recycled
This site promotes products remanufactured or made from recovered materials
in Texas. Listings include construction materials, pallets, furnishings,
automotive components, office supplies, and agricultural and landscaping
products.

Conference of Mayors
This site provides information on their training program and information
on implementing a buy-recycled program.
U.S. EPA's Environmentally
Preferable Purchasing Program (EPP)
EPP is a federal-wide program that encourages and assists Executive agencies
in the purchasing of environmentally preferable products and services.
This site includes tools to implement EPP, successful stories, events,
and an EPP discussion section.

American Plastics
Council (APC)
This Web site includes an online Recycled Plastics Product Directory,
which contains a lists of manufacturers of products that report postconsumer
plastic content of at least 10 percent.
California Integrated Waste
Management Board (CIWMB)
This site includes an online Recycled Content Product (RCP) Database,
consisting of information on recycled products, manufacturers, distributors,
reprocessors, mills, and converters who procure or produce recycled-content
products or the recycled materials needed to make them. The result is
a growing list of over 10,000 materials, products, and businesses.
Minnesota Office
of Environmental Assistance
This directory of recycled-content product manufacturers contains product
descriptions, recycled content specifications, distributor listings, and
manufacturer contact information.
National Association for PET Container
Resources (NAPCOR)
The Recycled PET (RPET) Catalog provides a list of suppliers that manufacture
products containing postconsumer PET plastic bottles.
National Association of State Purchasing
Officials (NASPO)
This site provides monthly updates on buy recycled and green purchasing,
and describes the county's experience with different recycled products.
The site also includes information on resources for buyers, provides a
model environmental purchasing policy, and contains the King County Recycled
Procurement 1998 Annual Report.
The
Official Recycled Products Guide
This guide is available on the Internet and is updated on a regular basis.
In order to access the guide, users will need to order a subscription,
which ranges from $69 to $295 depending on the type of subscription. For

Pennsylvania Resource Council (PRC)
This site includes the PRC's 1998 Buyer's Guide to Recycled Products,
an online directory of recycled products, and a listing of its links to
recycled products directories including national, association, building,
construction, green products, state and regional directories.
Recycle Iowa
This site includes the Iowa Recycled Product Directory, which lists recycled
product manufacturers and distributors in Iowa. It also provides links
to numerous buy-recycled resources.
U.S. EPA's Comprehensive Procurement
Guidelines
This site includes information on the 54 procurement guidelines, a list
of manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers of designated products, fact
sheets, buy-recycled news, and related links.
