1) EPA Offers Water Quality Standards Academy Training Course in Washington, DCEPA is offering its 5 day introduction to water quality standards course on February 25 - March 1 and March 11 - March 15. The course is a comprehensive and highly structured course that introduces participants to all aspects of the water quality standards program, including the interpretation and application of the water quality standards regulation; policies and program guidance; and the development of water quality criteria (human health, aquatic life, sediment, nutrient, and biological). The course is designed for those with fewer than six months of experience with water quality standards. For more information on the course, visit http://www.epa.gov/waterscience/standards/academy.html on the Internet. 2) EPA Sponsors Wetland Photo ContestEPA is sponsoring a Wetland Photo Contest focusing on images that show the functions and values of wetlands. EPA is seeking high quality photographs of wetlands in different regions of the United States and at different seasons of the year. The winning photographs will be displayed at the National Wetland Awards ceremony in Washington, DC in May 2002 and will be used in an EPA wetland poster and publication.
