National Drinking Water Workgroup to MeetThe Small Systems Affordability Workgroup of the National Drinking Water Advisory Council will meet on Dec. 18-19 at Resolve located on 1255 23rd St., NW, Suite 275, Washington DC. The workgroup will address draft recommendations from each of the committees on affordability criteria, financial support strategies, and system level strategies. EPA sets Measures to Protect Vulnerability AssessmentsEPA met its statutory deadline on Nov. 30 to develop protocols to protect copies of vulnerability assessments that are submitted to EPA by community water systems under the Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002. This Act required community water systems and EPA to take immediate steps to improve the security of the nation=s drinking water infrastructure.
