Federal Advisory Committee on Detection and Quantitation for Uses in Clean Water Act Programs
Second Meeting Summary Statement, September 29-30, 2005
The Federal Advisory Committee on Detection and Quantitation Approaches and Uses in Clean Water Act (CWA) Programs (FACDQ) met on Thursday, September 29 and Friday, September 30, 2005 at the FDIC Seidman Center in Arlington, Virginia. The committee heard:
- a report from the state caucus of survey results on how states use detection and quantitation;
- a report from the environmental caucus on its outreach results;
- a report from EPA regarding the various program uses of detection and quantitation; and
- a report from the Technical Work Group.
The committee considered draft definitions of terms prepared by a Technical Work Group and approved a narrowed list of definitions. In addition, the committee narrowed the list of procedures to move forward.
The committee developed and approved preliminary policy evaluation criteria for a final package of recommendations. The committee discussed its progress with Michael Shapiro, Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water at EPA.
