Bioaccumulative Chemicals of Concern Affected by the ban on Mixing Zones in the Great Lakes
EPA has identified twenty-two bioaccumulative chemicals of concern (BCCs) that will be further regulated by the mixing zone ban in the Great Lakes. The twenty-two BCCs include:
- Chlordane
- DDD
- DDE
- DDT
- Dieldrin
- Hexachlorobenezene
- Hexachlorobutadiene
- Hexachlorocyclohexane (BHC)
- alpha-Hexachlorocyclohexane
- beta-Hexachlorocyclohexane
- delta-Hexachlorocyclohexane
- Lindane
- Mercury
- Mirex
- Octachlorostyrene
- Photomirex
- PCBs
- Pentachlorobenzene
- 2,3,7,8-TCDD
- 1,2,3,4-Tetrachlorobenzene
- 1,2,4,5-Tetrachlorobenzene
- Toxaphene
