Draft Specification for Commercial Pre-Rinse Spray Valves

EPA released the Draft Specification for Commercial Pre–Rinse Spray Valves in February 2013. Manufacturers, retailers, and distributors that produce or sell commercial pre–rinse spray valves are eligible to become WaterSense partners. EPA anticipates publishing the Final Specification for Commercial Pre–Rinse Spray Valves in the Fall of 2013.

Public Comments on the Draft Specification for Commercial Pre–Rinse Spray Valves

Interested parties had the opportunity to submit comments on the draft specification until early April 2013. Draft Specification for Commercial Pre-Rinse Spray Valves and Supporting Documentation

EPA issued a Draft Specification for Commercial Pre–Rinse Spray Valves on February 7, 2013. The draft specification and supporting documentation are found below:

In addition, EPA is sharing its draft product notification template for commercial pre-rinse spray valves. When EPA releases a final specification for pre-rinse spray valves, using this template, licensed certifying bodies will be required to submit information directly to EPA regarding WaterSense labeled products that have been successfully certified:

Pre-Rinse Spray Valves Field Study

To ensure the efficiency and performance of high-efficiency pre-rinse spray valves before developing a specification, EPA conducted a field study to assess pre-rinse spray valve water use, energy use, and performance.
