May I attend an EPA Web training if I am not an EPA employee or contractor?

Yes, you may! When a Web site works better, everyone benefits.

Our trainings are designed for EPA staff and use EPA situations. But staff in other organizations who manage Web sites are welcome to "sit in" and glean what they can from our materials. For example, "Writing for the Web" would help state employees who want to learn ways to compose and organize material intended to be read on a computer screen. Trainings are free unless otherwise noted.

How it works: Our online trainings are conducted by web seminar or "webinar" (video) and by phone (audio). We try to schedule our training webinars in the afternoon, U.S. east coast time, to accomodate EPA employees in western time zones; you can probably attend no matter where you are located. Read about how our webinars work.

Which training?

Some EPA Web trainings are general and will provide skills no matter what Web site you work on. For example:

Some trainings are specific to EPA Web management but depending on your own Web management process, can still provide you with comparative "how EPA does it" information. For example:

Some trainings are unlikely to be of value to you. This is because they are entirely EPA-specific, such as "EPA Web 101," and doesn't provide useful information outside of EPA Web management circles.
