Women, Girls and the Environment
White House Women and the Environment Summit
In 2012, EPA and the White House hosted the inaugural Women and the Environment Summit. At this annual event, senior leaders from EPA, other federal agencies, and external organizations engage with more than 100 women in both panels and action workshops. In 2013, these women leaders discussed the continuing need for women to take an active role in protecting our health and the natural environment, as well as taking on leadership roles in our communities and places of work.
E-book
Through EPA’s partnership with Disruptive Women, a subsidiary of Amplify Public Affairs, the Agency produced two e-books as a result of last year’s Women and the Environment this summit. This year, we plan to produce two more e-books. Stay tuned for more information. Last year’s e-books are Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Asthma and Health and the Environment.
