Patricia Clark


Patricia Clark, a native of York, Pennsylvania, received her B.S. degree in biology from Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pennsylvania, in 1973 and her M.Sc. degree in environmental science from Drexel University at Philadelphia in 1975. Following her graduation, Ms. Clark immediately went to work for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as an industrial hygienist in the agency's Philadelphia area office.

For the next five years, she worked throughout the Philadelphia Region in various industrial hygienist positions. In June 1980, Ms. Clark was assigned to her first management position with OSHA as district supervisor of OSHA's district office in Wilmington, Delaware. She served in this position until August 1982 when she was appointed Assistant Regional Administrator for Federal/State Operations for the Chicago Region of OSHA. In April 1987 Ms. Clark moved to New England after being named to the position of Deputy Regional Administrator for the Boston Region.

In October 1990, Ms. Clark was appointed to the position of Director for OSHA's Directorate of Compliance Programs, joining the Federal Government's Senior Executive Service. She served in this capacity until October 1992, when she was reassigned to the position of Director of Technical Support for OSHA. The Directorate of Technical Support serves as the principal source of agency expertise pertaining to scientific, engineering, and medical issues with respect to occupational safety and health.

In August, 1994, she was named to the position of Regional Administrator for Region 2. Region 2 has jurisdiction over New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. As Regional Administrator, Ms. Clark is responsible for the direction, management and control of programs and goals set forth in the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. She serves as the Agency's principal point of contact for management and labor in both the private and public sectors.

Ms. Clark has been a member of ACGIH since 1975 and AIHA since 1977.
