Krish Radhakrishnan


Krish Radhakrishnan is the Director of Asbestos Control Program with New York City Department of Environmental Protection. He has been with the Department since 1989. His current responsibilities include overall management of the Asbestos Control Program that includes the implementation and enforcement of the Asbestos Rules of the City of New York, New York State Industrial Code Rule 56 and Asbestos NESHAP.

Mr. Radhakrishnan was responsible for the planning, specification, and implementation of the cleaning of exterior building surfaces after September 11. His unit performed outreach and provided information to the regulated community. Further, he was responsible for the DEP oversight of the interior clean-up contracts.

He holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University, India and a Master’s degree in Energy Science from New York University, New York. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer by the State of New York.
