She also led the ORD green infrastructure (GI) and stormwater management program, where she worked across the Agency and with States to establish partnerships with community local governments and provide technical support on incorporating GI in their stormwater management compliance requirements. Dr. Gilliland’s collaborations across federal Agencies including the Centers for Disease Control, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Department of Energy have also contributed to substantial advancement of our understanding of air quality impacts on public health and interactions with climate change.

Dr. Gilliland earned a B.S. in Applied Biology (Ecology) and a Ph.D. in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
