About KMZ Files

EPA has created supplementary maps that allow the user to display geo-spatial data on an interactive 3D platform. Data layers can be turned on or off, and overlayed for comparison. The navigation tools allow users to change the view of the Earth's surface and pinpoint areas of interest.

Maps are in the form of a KMZ file that is downloaded directly to your computer.

To view KMZ files you need one of the following programs: Google Earth, ESRI Arc Explorer, and NASA WorldWind View. A free version of Google Earth is available for download at Exit along with a user guideExit
