EPA announced $53.4 million in grant selections to community-based non-profit organizations, Indian tribes, states, and local governments to enhance ambient air quality monitoring in and near underserved communities across the US. Funding is made available from the ARP and the Inflation Reduction Act.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress designated ARP funding for grants, contracts, and other agency activities that identify and address disproportionate environmental or public health harms and risks in underserved communities through a range of local initiatives.
