Maximum Achievable Control Technology Standards in Region 7

Maximum Achievable Control Technology
40 CFR Part 63

Maximum Achievable Control Technology Standards (MACTs) are applicable requirements that must be included in a sources Title V operating permit. If you have questions about applicability of the standards, we encourage you to first discuss them with your respective state or local air pollution control agency. If you are located outside the Region 7 geographic area (e.g Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska) please consult with the state or local agency or EPA Regional Office in your area. If you are a state or local agency located in Region 7 and need assistance with the interpretation of a standard, please contact us.

The EPA's Technology Transfer Network Air Toxics Website provides access to many of the documents used in the development of the standards. These documents can be a useful resource.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's "Decision Support System" provides a number of innovative tools to better help understand EPA's regulatory requirements. Particularly useful are the navigation flowcharts that help explain the many options provided by some rules. If blank, no tools are available.
