Regulation Development for Drinking Water Contaminants

EPA follows processes set forth by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) when evaluating the need to regulate a contaminant. If EPA decides to proceed with regulation development, then the agency conducts a variety of economic analyses when developing the proposed and final regulations.
