Public Meeting on Technical Issues under the Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products Final Rule

On June 28, 2018, EPA held a public meeting to get individual input on certain technical issues in the Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products Final Rule.  The meeting helped inform EPA’s potential development of a proposed rule to address these technical issues and to further align the rule requirements with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measures (ATCM) Phase II program.

The Agency is taking comment on the specific technical issues outlined in the meeting agenda below. More details on the specific technical issues can be found in the supporting documents section of docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2018-0174. Comments or questions can also be provided on other technical rule provisions that would improve consistency with CARB’s regulation, enhance rule clarity, and improve overall rule implementation. Written comments should be submitted to the docket (ID number EPA-HQ-OPPT-2018-0174) by July 28, 2018.
