Large storage tank for oil productsThe energy sector includes coal mining and natural gas and oil systems. Combined, these two sectors account for 22% of projected 2030 global non-CO2 emissions, or approximately 2,987 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO2e). Assuming full implementation of current technology, the global abatement potential for the energy sector is projected to be 1,687 MtCO2e in 2030.
