Open House and Public Meeting on Ethylene Oxide

The U.S. EPA will host an open house and community forum to provide updates on the agency’s work to better understand air emissions of ethylene oxide from the Sterigenics facility in Willowbrook, Illinois. Both will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Ashton Place, 341 75th St, Willowbrook, Ill.

The forum will be live streamed from the Village of Willowbrook Facebook page beginning at 7:00 pm (CST) Exit

Open House: 3 to 6 p.m.

The open house will provide an opportunity for individuals to talk one-on-one with staff from U.S. EPA and other agencies about their concerns related to ethylene oxide and to ask questions.

Community Forum: 7 to 10 p.m.

The community forum will feature a series of expert panels to respond to questions EPA has been receiving from the communities around the Sterigenics facility. Staff from U.S. EPA, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), the State of Illinois, and the Tri-State Fire Department will provide information in response to questions about ethylene oxide in the community. The U.S. EPA also will discuss the work it is doing to better understand risks from ethylene oxide emissions, and its plans for ongoing community information and engagement.
