Sterigenics Willowbrook Facility: Open House & Community Meeting

The U.S. EPA hosted an open house and community meeting to provide updates on the agency’s work to better understand air emissions of ethylene oxide from the Sterigenics facility in Willowbrook, Illinois. Both were held:

Wednesday, May 29, 2019
Marriott Chicago Southwest at Burr Ridge
1200 Burr Ridge Parkway
Burr Ridge, Illinois, 60527

The open house provided an opportunity for individuals to talk one-on-one with staff from U.S. EPA and other agencies, along with representatives of community organizations, about their concerns related to ethylene oxide.

The community meeting featured a series of presentations from federal and state agencies that have been examining issues related to ethylene oxide from the Sterigenics facility. Staff from U.S. EPA and other agencies provided updates on their work. A citizen panel asked questions related to the agencies’ reports that are most important to the community.

Presentations given at the community meeting can be downloaded here.

The community meeting was videoed and live streamed on the Village of Burr Ridge's Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/pg/brvillage/events/Exit
