Indoor airPLUS continues to update many of its program documents based on stakeholder feedback, revised industry standards, and evolving best practices in building science and home performance. The latest Indoor airPLUS Construction Specifications and companion guidance including the most current program Policy Record can be found below.
Homes permitted starting 05/01/2018 are required to use Revision 4 of the Construction Specifications for qualification. For homes permitted before 05/01/2018, partners can use either Revision 3 or Revision 4 if desired. The Rater may define “permit date” as either the date that the permit was issued or the date of the contract on the home.This document contains the revised Indoor airPLUS Version 1 (Rev. 04) Construction Specifications and verification checklist, as well as instructions for building and verifying Indoor airPLUS homes.
This resource was developed to help builders, designers, and Home Energy Raters find products that are compliant with the Indoor airPLUS Construction Specification requirements for low-emission materials.

This policy record was updated on December 2019, and contains all official program updates on policy issues identified, under review, and/or resolved at the time of release of the most recent revision to the Indoor airPLUS Construction Specifications (Rev. 04, February 2018). Future updates will include changes, clarifications, and refinements that will be included into the next revision of the Construction Specification and Verification Checklist.
This Exemption Request Policy and Process document (active as of May 1, 2017) provides the opportunity for partners to request an exemption where a project(s) cannot meet one or more of the requirements or processes outlined in the program documents. Exemption requests may apply to a new interpretation, policy, or procedure, either for a specific project or broader application. Exemption requests should always reference the Specification Item in question. If a question arises that is not specifically addressed by the Indoor air PLUS Construction Specifications, a request for clarification can also be made following this process.You may need a PDF reader to view some of the files on this page.
