EPA Regulatory Actions
Executive Order (EO) 13771, (82 FR 9339, February 3, 2017), “Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs,” directs agencies to repeal at least two existing regulations for each new regulation issued since FY 2017. An associated guidance memo (17 pp, 176 K, About PDF) from the Office of Management and Budget clarifies that regulatory actions are defined as those actions that are significant under Executive Order 12866 and that impose total costs greater than zero. A deregulatory action is an action that has been finalized and has total costs less than zero.
