The EPA is proposing to reissue a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to the City of Kendrick, Idaho.
The city operates a wastewater treatment facility that serves a resident population of 369. There are no major industries discharging to the facility, and the facility does not have a pretreatment program.
The effluent from the facility is discharged year-round onto a floodplain approximately 900 feet from the Potlatch River. Effluent flows over the floodplain into the Potlatch River.
The Region 10 office of the EPA has tentatively determined to reissue a discharge permit to the City of Kendrick.
This notice will serve as public notice of the intent of the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to consider certifying that the subject discharges will comply with the applicable provisions of the Sections 208(e), 301, 302, 303, 306 and 307 of the Clean Water Act. The NPDES permit will not be issued until the certification requirements of Section 401 of the Clean Water Act have been met.
