Information Concerning HCFC-123 and HCFC-124 Consumption and Use

EPA recently signed a Notice of Data Availability announcing the availability of a draft report, The U.S. Phaseout of HCFCs: Projected Servicing Demands in the U.S. Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Fire Suppression Sector (2020-2030), commonly referred to as the “Servicing Tail Report.” EPA has issued this report in the past, most recently 2014. The draft report contains information that revises estimates of potential future market demand for HCFC-123 and HCFC-124 based on current uses in air-conditioning, refrigeration, and fire suppression equipment and considers the availability of recovered HCFCs.
