Public Notice: Proposal to Add Bradford Island in Oregon to the National Priorities List (Superfund)
EPA is proposing to list Bradford Island as a Superfund site on the National Priorities List (NPL). A 60-day public comment period is open from September 9, 2021, until November 8, 2021.
Bradford Island, an island in the Columbia River, is part of the Bonneville Dam complex operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Corps’ historical operations and maintenance practices at the site caused the soil, groundwater, and stormwater to be contaminated. Sediments in the Columbia River are also contaminated with PCBs and other contaminants.
