Lauren Bamford

Lauren Bamford holds a B.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University and an M.S. in Marine Sciences from the University of New England, where she was also a National Science Foundation GK-12 resident scientist in local classrooms. Her graduate work focused on the interactions between seals and fisheries in the Gulf of Maine. She was also involved with seal research at Shoals Marine Laboratory, Isles of Shoals, ME.

As the Outreach Coordinator (ORAU Contractor) for EPA-RTP’s Community Engagement and STEM Education Program, Lauren connects local schools and community groups with the EPA and brings STEM/Environmental Science activities into local classrooms, especially to minority and low-income K-12 schools. She is currently working towards her NC Environmental Education Certification.
