The Colegio de la Frontera Norte completed a guidance document for Mexican municipalities and stakeholders in Northeastern Mexican Border States to utilize, in accordance with existing Mexican regulations, for the development of a comprehensive E-Waste Management Plan. The guidance document outlines practical concepts and tools to establish an E-Waste Management Plan where government authorities, producers, carriers, consumers, waste managers and other stakeholders can work cooperatively with one another, to help achieve and improve the environmental and quality of life for border residents. The project, “Municipal Guide for Comprehensive Management of E waste in the Northeast of Mexico (PDF)” (39 pp, 815K), was developed through the EPA Region 6 border funding administered through the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC).

El Colegio de la Frontera Norte completó una guía dirigida a municipalidades mexicanas y para demás actores de los Estados Fronterizos de la Región Noreste de México, a ser utilizada en acuerdo con las leyes y regulaciones existentes de México, a fin de llevar a cabo una Gestión Integral de los Residuos de Aparatos Eléctricos y Electrónicos (GIRAEE). Esta Guía describe conceptos prácticos y herramientas para establecer un Plan GIRAEE donde autoridades gubernamentales, productores, trasportistas, consumidores, gestores de residuos y demás actores puedan trabajar en colaboración para mejorar la calidad ambiental y bienestar de la comunidad. El proyecto, “Guía municipal de gestión integral de residuos de aparatos eléctricos y electrónicos para el noreste de México (PDF) ”, fue desarrollado a través de fondos de Región 6 de la Agencia de Protección Ambiental (EE.UU.) administrados a través de la Comisión de Cooperación Ecológica Fronteriza (COCEF).
