Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Training Module about Enforcement and Compliance

***NOTE***

This module was last updated in 1999 so it has not been updated to reflect regulatory changes that have been made since then. Though this is still a useful resource, it is not intended to serve as a comprehensive source of regulatory information.

This training module:

  • Describes enforcement procedures and mechanisms and cite the statutory authorities
  • Describes the three different types of enforcement actions, administrative, civil, and criminal
  • Explains when and how EPA can enforce the RCRA regulations in authorized states
  • States the differences between enforcement at interim status and permitted facilities and describe enforcement at federal facilities
  • Describes some of EPA's compliance incentive and assistance policies

Find more information on our enforcement web pages.  Access other training modules that provide overviews of other specific RCRA regulatory topics here.
