Underground Injection Control (UIC) -- Where You Live

The UIC program works nationwide and where you live to ensure that underground injection will not endanger your drinking water. This program specifically controls injection wells to protect ground water that is being used or has the potential to be used for drinking water. The following information about injection wells and the UIC program applies to Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Tribal Lands located within these states.
