CHICAGO (August 18, 2005) — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 has reached an agreement with QMA Inc. of Elk Grove Village, Ill., for alleged violations of federal rules on hazardous waste.

QMA, located at 1390 Lunt Ave., is now in compliance with all Resource Conservation and Recovery Act requirements for managing hazardous waste. The company was originally cited for failure to: prepare annual reports, properly store containers, provide personnel training, and submit emergency procedures and contingency planning documents to local officials. QMA manufactures circuit boards and has agreed to pay a fine of $3,000 to settle the violations.

Under RCRA, EPA regulates hazardous waste from production to final disposal.
