Media Advisory: EPA briefing on Detroit Chemical cleanup, Oct. 9, 11 a.m.

(Chicago, Ill. - Oct. 7, 2008) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 will host a media briefing Thursday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m., to mark the completion of a Superfund cleanup at the now-closed ChemServe Corp. plant at 9505 Copland St., in Detroit's Delray neighborhood.

The project began in April. The facility had been cited for a number of health and safety violations by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.

State and local officials are expected. Drums and debris staged for disposal will be visible.
