Press Advisory: Lincoln County, Mont., Woodstove Changeout Kickoff

      Denver -- Officials from EPA, the State of Montana, the Hearth Patio & Barbecue Association and Lincoln County, Mont. (Libby) will kick off the Lincoln County Woodstove Changeout, a campaign aimed at replacing all 1,200 of the county’s older, polluting woodstoves in the next two to three years. The changeouts should significantly improve winter air quality in the Libby area, which has been designated a nonattainment area for EPA’s national air quality standards for fine-particle pollution, also known as PM 2.5. As part of this effort, industry is donating stoves and installation to bring cleaner-burning woodstoves to more than 300 low-income residents in the area this year.
