MONDAY: EPA Administrator McCarthy to Keynote Utilities Conference in Austin
WASHINGTON - U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy will give the keynote speech at the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners annual meeting in Austin, Texas. She will discuss the Clean Power Plan and the importance of taking action on climate change.
The Clean Power Plan is a historic and important step that will cut U.S. carbon pollution, which fuels climate change and impacts the health and well-being of all Americans. It also builds on the progress states, cities and businesses have been making through their investments in energy efficiency programs and renewable and clean energy technologies. A vital piece of President Obama's Climate Action Plan, the Clean Power Plan further establishes the United States as a world leader in efforts to combat climate change.
