TODAY: EPA Administrator to Testify before Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on FY 2017 Budget
WASHINGTON – U.S. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will testify Wednesday, April 20 before the Senate Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Subcommittee on the FY 2017 Budget. EPA’s proposed budget provides resources to ensure the agency continues to meet its mission to protect public health and the environment.
EPA is working with state, local, and tribal partners, as well as with business, the agricultural community, and stakeholders to find commonsense solutions to complex environmental issues. EPA aims to help build a sustainable future for all Americans through effective use of public resources. The funding allows for important work to combat the impacts of climate change and deliver on the President’s Climate Action Plan. The proposed budget will also help improve air quality, protect water quality, execute rigorous scientific research and ensure public safety from toxic chemicals.
