WEDNESDAY: EPA Administrator to Deliver Keynote Address at the Choose Clean Water Coalition Annual Conference
WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, May 25, U.S. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will deliver the keynote address at the 7th Annual Conference of the Choose Clean Water Coalition. Administrator McCarthy will discuss the steps that EPA is taking to protect the nation’s water resources by ensuring accountability for reducing pollution and restoring ecosystems. She will also discuss the importance of updating our nation’s water infrastructure to protect safe drinking water for all Americans.
EPA is working with state and local officials as well as other stakeholders in an effort to combat the effects that climate change is having on bodies of water like the Chesapeake Bay. EPA’s Trash Free Waters program to reduce pollution of trash into U.S. bodies of water helps local businesses, government agencies, and citizens make sure their trash does not end up in aquatic ecosystems.
