EPA Administrator Pruitt and Representative Walden meet to discuss environmental and economic issues

Audio

Speaker: Rep. Greg Walden

Transcript: You know we had a very productive discussion about issues involving the country. How we get clean water, clean air, how we grow jobs. How we take care of the environment. It’s a refreshing change. I’m looking forward to working with the administrator. He’s very knowledgeable. He gets it, he understands. He wants to work with the Congress and focus the resources of the EPA on what the country needs, which is clean water, clean air, a better environmental outcome.
For our folks back home, I think they’re looking for the opportunity to be partners with these agencies to do the right thing for our streams, for our air sheds, and get to the right balance. We want clean water; we want clean air. There’s a way to get there and I think we can actually multiple the limited federal resources by working in better partnership with individuals and with states and local governments.
