ORD/CCTE/Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division Library Services

The Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division (GLTED) Library, part of the Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure (CCTE), was founded in 1967 to support research staff at the Division in predicting and assessing the effects of pollutants and other stressors on our nation's freshwater resources. The library contains 2,000 book titles, 140 journal titles, 20 active journal subscriptions, and an extensive GLTED-Authored Reprint Collection (1965-present). Major fields and topics of interest include analytical chemistry, aquatic biology, aquatic toxicology, contaminated sediment research, effluent testing, freshwater ecology, global climate change (ecological effects), Great Lakes ecology, water pollution, and wetlands.

Hours of Operation
The library is open from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Tuesday - Friday, excluding federal holidays.

Borrowing Policy and Interlibrary Loans

Library check-out privileges are available to EPA personnel, grantees, and contractors only. Visitors may schedule an appointment to use library materials onsite but may not borrow materials. Visitors are encouraged to obtain materials held in the library through programs set up by their local public, corporate, school, or university libraries.

To locate EPA library and repository materials, you can search the EPA National Library Catalog. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail the library.

Information For Other Libraries: We share materials with other libraries via OCLC WorldShare. Our OCLC symbol is ELD and we are members of Federal Libraries and Information Centers (FEDL), Libraries Very Interested in Sharing (LVIS), and MINITEX (MULS), the local information and resource sharing program for academic, government, public, and specialized libraries in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
