FRRCC Meeting Materials October 2015

The Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Federal Advisory Committee (FRRCC)  met onThursday, October 22, 2015, hosted by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.  The meet agenda and presentations are below.

  • Presentation: Beneficial Uses of Manure and Environmental Protection (pdf)
    EPA and other organizations encourage the environmentally sound use of manure. Its constituents can be used as a resource for crop production, improvement of soil quality, and other purposes, while leading to water quality improvements.
  • Presentation: The Nutrient Recycling Challenge (pdf)
    Manure can be a resource as a renewable fertilizer, but should be used properly to minimize water pollution and build healthy soils.
  • Presentation: Healthy Soils and Air Quality (pdf)
    Properly managed healthy soils help prevent nutrient loss and erosion and the subsequent impact on air quality, lakes, rivers and groundwater supplies.
