Helping Communities Reduce Trash Entering the Gulf of America
Since 2019, Gulf of America Division has funded 25 projects totaling $11,286,294 in response to the growing trash pollution epidemic. These projects reduce and prevent trash in the five Gulf states (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida) and metropolitan statistical areas of the Mississippi River. They also support EPA’s Trash Free Waters Program (TFW) to remove and prevent marine and other aquatic pollution, especially microplastics.
