About the Toolkit

The Solid Waste Management Toolkit (the Toolkit) serves as a free resource for decision-makers implementing solid waste management programs. The Toolkit’s primary audience is state and local government authorities in cities including decision-makers, policymakers, and agency staff involved in SWM. Certain resources may be applicable to other interested parties such as non-governmental organizations, private sector actors, or residents.

Key features of the Toolkit include the Best Practices for Solid Waste Management: A Guide for Decision-Makers in Developing Countries (the Guide), Guide companion chapters, e-learning modules, videos, communication materials, and webinar materials.
