Public Notice: HPI South Eighth Street Superfund Site, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri
Summary
Administrative Record Available
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 has compiled the Administrative Record (AR) for the HPI South Eighth Street Superfund Site in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. The AR is the official site file that contains technical documents with respect to response actions at the site. EPA developed this document collection to form a clear understanding of the site.
The downtown St. Joseph site includes a vacant industrial building and asphalt parking lot, and was most recently used as a storage and dry mixing facility for HPI Products Inc. The city of St. Joseph purchased the property and plans to demolish the site building and construct a new parking lot for the adjacent St. Joseph Fire Department. EPA will oversee removal action activities, including removal and disposal of hazardous substances, building demolition and waste disposal, and installation of a protective cap for future use of the site as a parking lot.
Site project information is available to the public at web repositories. To view cleanup documents, please visit EPA’s webpage.
