EPA to Hold Community Learning Session on Air Permit Renewal for Veolia Hazardous Waste Incinerator in Sauget, Illinois

CHICAGO (Sept. 19, 2024) - On September 28, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will host a community learning session on the renewal of an air permit for the Veolia ES Technical Solutions facility in Sauget, Illinois. EPA is reviewing an application from Veolia to renew its Clean Air Act operating permit for a new 5-year term. Veolia operates a facility at 7 Mobile Ave. in Sauget that stores and burns hazardous waste.

The meeting is an opportunity for community members to ask questions about EPA’s process for considering cumulative impacts, how the permit process considers enforcement actions and learn tips for reviewing the proposed air permit.
