Registration Open for National Brownfields Training Conference, August 5-8 in Chicago
CHICAGO (June 12, 2025) – Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the International City/County Management Association, or ICMA, announced registration is open for the National Brownfields Training Conference, to be held August 5-8 in the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Addressing the nation's brownfields—abandoned or underutilized properties stigmatized by past contamination—is an ongoing challenge for communities of every size. Conference participants will learn about the latest technologies and strategies to clean up contaminated properties. Presenters will include representatives from federal agencies, engineering firms, development companies, environmental cleanup companies, legal and financial firms and nonprofits.
Anyone can attend, including local, state and Tribal government officials, community groups, private sector redevelopment specialists, and students and academics. Online registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 4. On-site registration will be available beginning August 5 at McCormick Place.
EPA’s Brownfields program works collaboratively with federal, state, Tribal, local and private partners to return sites to productive use. These revitalization projects protect people from exposure to contaminants, improve property values and provide much-needed redevelopment opportunities.
